When we talk about zascuca, we think of a mix of fresh vegetables such as eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, fried in oil or baked, seasoned with pepper and bay leaves. The container usually used for storage is a sterilized jar, which once opened is spread on a bed, which is usually represented by the traditional slice of bread. Being a Balkan product, the Slavic origin of the name can be translated as snack or appetizer. In Romania, zacusca already has more than 300 years of presence in the pantry.
